The Qing dynasty (1644-1912) elevated blue and white porcelain to remarkable artistic heights. Produced in the imperial kilns of Jingdezhen, these pieces showcased intricate designs featuring dragons, floral motifs, and landscapes. The cobalt blue pigment, often imported, was skilfully applied under the glaze, resulting in vibrant contrasts.
Qing porcelain styles varied across reigns, with Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong periods being particularly renowned for their refinement, innovation, and technical excellence, making them highly prized world wide.
