Murano glass cane paperweights are among the most colourful and technically accomplished creations of the Venetian glassmakers of Murano. Crafted using the 'millefiori' ("thousand flowers") technique, they are made from glass canes containing intricate patterns that are sliced and fused together to create dazzling floral, geometric, or star-shaped designs. he technique dates back to the nineteenth-century revival of ancient Roman glassmaking traditions. Each paperweight is individually hand-blown and shaped, making every example unique.
