Collection of Gozo hand blown fruit

A collection of eight Gozo handblown glass fruits, circa 1990
Gozo glass fruits trace their origins to the Maltese island of Gozo, where glassmaking traditions flourished in the late 1960s. Inspired by Venetian techniques, skilled artisans developed a distinctive style known for vibrant colours and fluid forms. The fruits-apples, pears, grapes, and more-became popular souvenirs, capturing the Mediterranean's warmth and charm.
Using molten glass, craftsmen shaped and layered hues to mimic the richness of real fruit while adding artistic abstraction. Over decades, Gozo glass fruits grew into collectible pieces, admired for their craftsmanship, cultural identity, and playful beauty.
