Art Deco Adie Brothers silver plate handled cocktail shaker circa 1930.

Adie Brothers was a respected British silverware and jewellery firm founded in 1879 in Birmingham, a city long associated with fine metalwork. The company became known for producing high quality sterling silver items such as tea sets, vanity cases, clocks, and enamelled decorative pieces.

Its hallmarks were first registered around 1902 and updated in 1922 after incorporation. Adie Brothers gained recognition for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design influences, including connections to the Arts and Crafts movement.

Despite surviving both World Wars, the firm company was eventually absorbed into the British Silverware group and later finally closed in 1968.
