James Humbert Craig (1878-1944) was an Irish landscape painter renowned for his vibrant depictions of the Irish countryside. Born in Belfast, he studied at the Belfast School of Art and later the Royal Hibernian Academy.
Craig was influenced by the Impressionist movement, employing bold brushstrokes and light-infused colours to capture the natural beauty of rural Ireland. He is particularly known for his paintings of the Mourne Mountains, Donegal, and the Antrim coast. His works reflect both the serenity and power of Ireland's landscapes.
Today, Craig's legacy endures as one of Ireland's most celebrated early 20th-century artists.
